Manufacturing Supervisor

Reports ToGeneral Manager, Canada

Location: Kamloops, BC

Position Summary:

The primary purpose of this position is to oversee all aspects of Phos-Chek Products at the Kamloops site. This includes production scheduling, product shipping, receipt of raw materials, and facility maintenance to ensure an uninterrupted supply of Phos-Chek products to Perimeter Solutions customers.  In addition, the Kamloops Manufacturing Supervisor will oversee the Tank Project, Stores and Facility Maintenance.

The Manufacturing Supervisor directly supervises and provides daily direction to the Plant Assistant, Tank Project Leader, Seasonal Manufacturing Assistants and Casual Hires. 

The Manufacturing Supervisor conducts all company related business in a professional, safe, and efficient manner, in full compliance with Perimeter Solutions EHS&S policies, Provincial Occupation Health and Safety requirements, Environmental legislation and various other applicable legislation.   

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Adheres to Perimeter Solutions safety policies.
  • Full compliance with Perimeter Solutions spill prevention/response plan.
  • Participates in efforts to ensure that company facilities are following appropriate safety, environmental and other legislation pertinent to manufacturing and storage. 
  • Consults with General Manager on scheduling production to ensure uninterrupted supply of products.
  • Maintain sufficient inventories of all products at levels appropriate to seasonal demand.
  • Ensure manufacturing and storage facilities are in full compliance with Perimeter Solutions Canada Ltd. company standards.
  • Ensures manufacturing QC guidelines are always followed.
  • Ensures manufacturing equipment is serviced pro-actively according to the established maintenance schedules.
  • Provides manufacturing/inventory and shipping/receiving records daily to ensure timely data processing.
  • Ensures accurate coding of plant activity and shipping/receiving operations is applied. 
  • Facilitates annual rolling stock inspections and maintenance.
  • Is responsible for the overall cleanliness and maintenance of the entire Kamloops facility grounds and equipment.
  • Conducts all activities pertaining to manufacturing and storage equipment maintenance.
  • Facilitates the movement of resources between manufacturing facilities in consultation with the General Manager
  • Review Safe Work Procedures on a yearly basis
  • Create Safe Work Procedures for new tasks or equipment
  • Complete Management of Change process on new tasks
  • Review owned safety processes on a regular basis
  • Facility LO/TO lead person
  • Facility Confined Space Entry Lead
  • Adequate supervision is exercised for manufacturing and storage operations.
  • Appropriate functional job descriptions set out for all employees. 
  • Appropriate job training and performance evaluation for all employees.
  • Appropriate personnel documentation and records are maintained
  • Participates in the hiring process for seasonal plant personnel
  • Perform performance reviews on direct reports
  • Participating in annual operational budget planning.
  • Conduct housekeeping safety inspections
  • Daily security checks of plant site; ensure facility is locked and secure at the end of each day
  • Rotational on-call roster
  • Upgrading facilities and equipment to increase safety and efficiency
  • Project planning
  • Contractor safety, orientation, and reviews
  • Other duties will be assigned as necessary

Requirements:

 

  • Graduate degree in business or related field (not required but an asset)
  • Diploma or course in manufacturing controlling and handling (not required but preferred)
  • Minimum 3 years manufacturing environment experience 
  • NetSuite experience preferred
  • Strong analytical and problem-solvingskills with the ability to work with minimal supervision 
  • In depth knowledge about technologies applied in manufacturing industry including machinery
  • Ability to handle new material, planning, evaluation capable of using new techniques
  • Knowledge about quality control measures and techniques used in manufacturing
  • Highly organized with ability to manage priorities and coordinate multiple projects simultaneously
  • Possess leadership skills and motivational qualities to direct employees toward production goals
  • Must be a team player and caneffectively interact with all levels of the organization 
  • Demonstrate strong sense of urgency and responsiveness to meet business demands
  • Demonstrate proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
  • First Aid Certificate

Physical Demands:

Work is performed in an office setting. This job is under frequent pressure from deadlines, need for accuracy, conflicting demands; unpleasant public or client contacts are frequent. There is an on-going need to attend to and decipher sensory inputs that require diligence and attention to interpret effectively. The work performed frequently requires repetitious hand, arm, and finger motions, as well as manual finger dexterity. The employee may be required to lift, move, and carry up to 50 pounds. There is some disruption of personal life because of work, work schedules and the need to travel.
